Either you are a wealth of valuable information, or you're smoking something. J/K That's pretty dang cool, will it absorb fire extinguisher odor? :biglaugh:

First thing, take them back out of the chicken coop and put them back in the car :) I like Fabreeze and Lysol.

I once obtained a set of real nice buckets that had a real bad human body odor smell. I must of scrubbed them a dozen times, went through a gallon of Fabreeze, and let them air out on the pourch for weeks. I thought it was finally gone but when locked up in a hot truck, the smell was still there. Ended up throwing them away. Didnt know about the apple thing. I'm a little sceptical about it but I sure would have tried it

Dang, guess there are some really stinky people in this world. Shame to ruin a set of Maverick buckets like that...

They were Aerostar seats. Most comfortable seat ever made. I found another set to replace them. I had them in my 79 Bronco.

Either that or put the chickens back in the coop where they belong.

Sometimes the problem is when the source of the odor goes through the fabric to the foam underneath. That's often why if you scrub the covering until it's almost gone and you still can't get the odor out. The vinyl seats had a stitching that could allow stuff to get underneath by soaking through the stitching material. Vinyl itself is not really porous so this may be the problem. If so, this may entail removing the hog rings to expose the foam and replacing it. I'd clean the backside of the vinyl as it had a backing that could hold odors. I've had seats apart to fix them on both Mavs so I was able to see them dissected.

Must be some pretty nasty people out there...

I can't put up with a car stinking inside. Our Mav smelled bad when it got humid outside or rained, I tore out 95% of the interior cleaning and scrubbing, then sprayed plenty of "new car smell" and let it sit with the windows down for a couple of days. Problem solved. :)

If there are any water leaks the carpet and backing can get wet and sour and give out an awful odor as well. Did you take the seats out of the car and did they smell outside of it? What about the carpet? Did the car still smell with the seats out? If so, you will have to replace the carpet, AFTER you have fixed the water leaks.
