    ARGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
why does a waterpump have to wait til the 1st days of summer to go out?
anyways... thanks to all for the help and input thus far.
"bars leaks" did indeed slow down the leak, but not stop it. so i went on ahead and removed the waterpump and everything attached to it.

    but....

now i cant figure out how to put it all back together again. i left all the existing bolts in thier correct holes, and pulled the waterpump off with them in it.
however... with overlapping AC/PS/and alternator brackets, mereley having the bolts in the right place does not tell me which goes back on 1st.

to the best of my knowledge, there is no longer such thing as a maverick manual.
IF someone out there can supply me with a schematic (via email) for a 72 V8 maverick, with AC and PS, i would be very grateful.
(for waterpump installation and ALL attached to it) or maybe tell me a site on the internet that would offer that info.

this job is nasty, backbreaking, time consuming and its downright hot. i dont have a buddy helping me with this project, so im extra vulnerable to make a mistake.

im going to hold off putting my baby back together until im 100% certain how it goes. i might consider selling the bitch if it doesnt work right the 1st time. (i like to think i have a life outside twisting wrenches on a dinosaur 2nd car)

    any help is greatly appreciated.
    thanks

    roadrage (out of commission)

You ought to consider selling if you have no patience for the hobby of owning it.

    thats not nice

    mr mering,
you know my comment was only made out of frustration. (i think im entitled to be frustrated, since ive been several days without my car, im bruised, bloody, and sunburnt. and confused. one way or another i will get the car pieced together.
i love my car too much to sell it, unless i got a really nice price for it. (and even a mint condition maverick is not worth a lot to many people)
please do not bother posting a "negative" reply to this.
im looking for answers, not someone to kick me while im down.

if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all.

    Roadrage,

Keep your head up. While you're busting knuckles in hot sweaty weather, remember that it could be worse. You could be broken down on the side of a backroad somewhere between nowhere and nowhere special with nary a house around to call someone. Yes, water pumps are a bear to install, but dont lose sight of the fact that when you get it back in commission and driving your pride and joy. Good luck. Sorry I couldnt help much more.

    up and running

im lucky to have a freind like "wildlilmaverick". he made the 55 mile journey to help me to install the waterpump, and piece together the rest of the jigsaw puzzle.
the car runs like a dream again. i doubt i couldve finished it without his help.

thanks for the input and incouragement to all except that incompassionate jerk who suggested i should sell it.

his abrasive attitude and bad karma will certainly land him in hell., and i wont shed a tear for him, either. bye bye.

i just cant wait till he finds himself in a predicament, and i can kick his @$$ while he's down.
