clean it very well!!!! Take your car to the local washing place and take the sprayer and clean the hell out of the car, and spray it in the vents before the windsheld, clean it all out, then before you get done, go to the front of your car, and look at the bottom of the finders, by the doors, and reach under it and feel if there is any thing clogging the drain, if there is take it out, water should be able to flow through it freely, also when you put the water in the vents, you'll find out if you have a cowl problem.... let us know, but lean the car very well, you never know it could of been sitting for a long time....

One problem that has plagued Mavs/Comets are leaking cowls. By leaking, I mean from rain and water entering during washing. The leaks are due to rust corroding out the cowl. You should make sure that this isn't the problem. If you have a smell of H2O in the front of the car, as I mean carpeting, than ths is something you should check for. If this is the case, the solution isn't pretty. The exterior needs to be removed and the rotted areas patched and welded. If, and I sure hope it isn't, it is the problem, you may want to contact the webmaster, Mark, at maverickcomet.com as he has had to do just this.
