Its been a while since i posted but are there any Maverick experts in Wichita? I have two mavs and im trying to restore one of them. I have been at a stand still for almost a year. Sort scared to do anything to it I guess.

I find the hardest part is getting started. Once I'm started I keep going. My advice is to start with something small and accomplish a little at a time. That way you can see progress and it makes you feel better. Good luck.(y)

The best piece of advice I can give you is Bag & Tag EVERYTHING!!!

Cheap dollar store ziplock bags & a sharpie will do wonders for your sanity when it comes time to reassemble everything. I usually put a folded piece of paper with where it came from in the ziplock bag along with the parts too, that way if the sharpie wears off or is marked over some how (spilled paint, etc.) you'll still know where it goes.

what do you need to do to the car?
post some pics so we can see what your working with.
make a list of what needs to be done on the car and then pick one idem and do it. then move on to the next idem. the list will grow as you go but if your lucky it should slowly get shorter. there is lots of helpfull people on this site and probly some of them live near you. keep posting your questions and progress here and youll find that youll have alot of new friends and a cool car if not two cool cars.

I echo Don's sentiments. I have a hell of a time getting going on my projects from time to time. With work and it getting dark so early this time of year, it takes some motivation to get going again on my project. I have a few projects waiting to go, so it helps me to just concentrate on one, or do little things on each one. I don't want to bite off more than I can chew and not finish anything.

    Good luck!

what they said, evaluate what order things need to be done in and make a list if that helps. then just concentrate on each step\area. time is not of the essence if you havent really done anything for a year, its only when you need it to get to work that you have to fix it over the weekend. don't forget you can always come here and ask if you cant figure something out, or look at the pics. i had to look at my pics to remember exactly how i had my wires run under the hood recently, after replacing my shock tower. Good Luck!:thumbs2:

WOW 2 mav to chose from.

find the one with the best sheet metal (cowl vent , floor , wheel houses, trunk floor and so no) as for rust

make sure you can get a good title so you can drive it when finish

take pic (before, during, after) of ever thing and print them so you have a record of how thing came apart.

don't throw anything away save everything

give each car a number bag & tag everything with car number

and good luck with your mav's
