I'm all set right now to finish my transmission job, but cut seem to figure our how to put my spring valve back in before my filter... I'm thinking it goes 1)transmission, 2)valve (plunger side up) 3) spring 4) filter

The metal plunger goes in first with the flat, cupped shape, up and the spring on the bottom. There is a little finger on the plunger that goes inside the spring. These go in the hole and are held in place by the tab on the filter.
