might not be funny to you if you have this in your car but i think its funny... anybody ever seen this?

    https://www.holley.com/products/nitrous/nitrous_components_and_accessories/purge_kits/parts/16029NOS

its a purge kit.... with a separate bottle... so you can purge.... your purge bottle...and you don't even need... a real nitrous system...so its just... for show? thats an expensive show piece lol. after seeing this exists I'm surprised i don't see more tuners running around with a constant 4 foot ploom of nitrous coming out of them:biglaugh:

Pathetic, why not throw in a few more hundred for a full kit and have some real fun? I guess NOS saw the "need" and wants to capitalize the decor crowd, can't blame them....you have to love capitalism!

no you definitely can't blame them.... now days more people are spending more money on flashy tow hooks, multi colored lugs nuts, and coil overs that get you so low a speed bump makes you cringe.... NOS just wants part of that cake.

I have to admit, if i were to add a purge to my NOS system i would look at the LED purge kit. its kind of cool i think. but theres a difference between adding a cool purge system to your nitrous system and adding a whole system just for a purge.

It's like running a stock 6 cylinder engine in your car but playing the sounds of a 500 HP V8 over your sound system

What am I missing? When I click the link I see a standard 10 lb bottle.
Never mind, I see there's no plate, fuel solenoid, or jets.

    It would be cool
If you actually had nitrous and you wanted a purge. Plus it'll be a lot cheaper because it doesn't come with a bottle or the steel lines. But not just so you can purge nitrous and not even have nitrous

Someone needs to do this out of a grill on a Maverick in red lights to make a "Flaming Bull Snort"....or out the trunk of a Comet for a flaming Comet tail.

Reminds me of when I was wishing I could find an affordable old 60's style "organ pipe" stack mechanical injection set-up for my Falcon gasser with an EFI conversion to make it dependable.....old Hilborn, Crower and Enderle set-ups were $1,000-$4,000, and you add another $2,500 for the EFI conversion

Then I found these faux mechanical fuel injection covers that fits over your standard manifold & carb....which, I'm ashamed to say I actually considered.....

until I saw they were over $1,000 for what was basically, a diguised air cleaner

Faking something to get a certain "look" isn't so bad in itself......but spending WAY too much money to do it makes it stupid and seem more overtly misleading rather than just a clever way to make up for what you can't do for real

thats actually a cool idea. "bull snort" lol. i have a nitrous setup right now so maybe when i add a purge ill do that :biglaugh: certainly be interesting.... and the main reason this is stupid is because your going through the same trouble installing this as you would installing real nitrous... and for 1-200 dollars more you can have real nitrous and the purge
