Heres that brown glue that i found holding my taillight lens gasket, to the housing...i took apart a few "side Marker" lights apart too and those also have a brown glue holding the gaskets to the bodys! It's a bad picture ...it looks like rust but it brown glue.......looks like the same stuff they sprayed to hold factory headliner padding in.
Thats exactly what it looks like! some pieces are from a junk yard car and some pieces are from my Grabber....rest assured it is factory glue.
I have seen factory glue on the rear side markers. I don't think I have ever seen it on the rear tail-lights. Maybe an over zealous worker that day!!
I seen it on some Comet lenses also. There are two colors of the 3M that i've seen. Dave posted a yellow one which I have seen turn kinda tanish after awhile. Rarely is a glue color important to me since I don't expect to see it.
Hmmm well i dont think i really need to glue them back in....i dont understand why they glued them in the first place.....maybe to keep em water tight?
I wasn't meaning the color was important. I was just saying that I'm not positive it's the same glue that I've seen that looked factory. I also have seen a yellow and black one, but neither looked like what I've seen.
In 30+ years anything can happen, there's no reason, maybe some guy at a bodyshop did it? Or some dutch guy? Who knows?????
