I am a first time Maverick owner and loving it. Bought the car from ebay, unfortunately the car was out of registration so I wasn't able to take it for a test drive before hand. After getting it home I found so many problems with it but taking it all in stride and starting to rebuild it. It's a pleasure to be on here with more diehard Ford owners! A question comes to mind...I'm trying to order a steering box for the car, 72 Maverick with a 302 and non power steering. The site I'm on shows 2 boxes with different ratios. I tried looking on the box being replaced and found no numbers. How do I find the right one for my car?

    Welcome.

Manual steering is normally in the 20:1 ratio range.

Power steering is normally in the 16:1 ratio range.

Make sure that you retain your manual steering pitman arm from your core steering box.
