I am soon going to be the owner of a 1972 Ford Maverick Sprint come this Saturday , my son and i are going to begin restoration on it soon . From what we know all it needs is minor cosmetic work, new tires, and we are wanting to put a V8 302 in it, a front spoiler/lip other than that keep everything else original, oh and also transfer to disc brakes, so everything else will be original, paint, interior(which is in perfect condition might i add), it also has a blue vinyl top which needs replaced(it's stock), so besides the motor, front lip, and brakes, its going to be original. If anyone has any pointers as to where to get these parts please let me know. Hopefully Ray Parrish, of whom i have seen a lot of cars on myspace, will help out a little, but any help is appreciated thanks!
welcome from the mitten! may I suggest keeping you sprint original? it is a rare Maverick and those are few and far between. Maybe start by ordering a Marti report so you know just how rare your specific car is watch out for Ray, he's a handful! (but a great guy) most of all...ENJOY -------
Watch out for Ray, he might buy your car. Welcome. And build the car the way you want it. Making it a better driver with disc brakes will only help the value. Leaving the interior and paint original is a good idea though for a Sprint. Have fun with it.
