With your old computer, can you click on "log out" (in the top left corner navigation bar) and then log back? If this does not work, request a new password by clicking here: http://mmb.maverick.to/login.php?do=lostpw

If you can log back in, then you have to make sure that your new computer accepts cookies. Assuming you are using Internet Explorer go to: tools -> Internet Options and then click on the Privacy tab. I have my setting set to medium.

OK, part 2. Actually I still can not log on with my new computer (sort of). I have the 2 computers networked together. My old computer is hooked to the internet. The new one is the leech. If I log out on my old computer, then sign on with my new computer through AOL, I can log into this message board. But if I try to sign on with the MAC browser, it will not let me. As soon as I try, it acts like its signing me in, but then goes back to the sign on screen.

This sounds like a cookie problem. Are you allowing your browser to accept cookies? Which Mac browser are you using? You should try firefox, which is great for browsing forums as you can open your threads in different tabs.

I am using Safari ... no issues here .... I even just signed off and back on with no problem. Have you tried other websites or is it just Maverick.to having the issue? My Mac using a wireless connection to a Wireless Router which is connected to a Cable Modem. Make sure you don't have any firewalls turned on if you are using your PC for sharing.

Also .. my cable company requires I register my Ethernet MAC (not Macintosh .. Machine Address) with them for the Cable modem to even work. Not sure how your cable company is setup. But you may have to call the cable company and tell them you have a new computer so they can register it. That is how they prevent you from having multiple IP addresses.

The way around it is to get a router and put your primary MAC address in it and then have all you PC's hooked to the router.

Did you try emptying the Cache ... or you can do a Reset Safari which will set everything back to the original installation settings ...

I have not had a problem going to any websight. I can go to this one just fine. I just cant log into it.
I have tried hooking the Mac directly to the cable modem with the same results.
I have not tried that yet. I may call the cable company as you suggested and see what they say.

If you can get to other websites then they (the cable company) are not registering your MAC address. You wouldn't be able to get to the internet at all if they were. However, if you plug directly into your cable modem and it isn't really working ... Safari may just be feeding you the pages out of it's cache ...
