73 Mercury Comet GT "Bear Cat"
Just wanted to introduce myself and my car! I'm so glad to have found this site! There aren't very many fans of my car in my area. Well, first off, I'm a 35 year old mom of 2 wonderful boys! We pretty much love cars in general or anything that has a motor! lol! I own an 86 Mustang GT/LX with t-tops, a 97 Mercury Mountaineer AWD, a 98 CBR 600, and my favorite is my 73 Mercury Comet GT!

Here's some pictures of the Comet!

I know these pictures are not the greatest, but it'll have to do for now. I've still got a lot of work to do on it and I will post more pictures of the progress. The car has set in my mother's garage for about 10 years. Now, I have it and get the pleasure of restoring it.

If anyone has any history of the Comet's with the gold stipe, please let me know. I was told that there were only 12 made in Georgia and very few had the "Bear Cat" package on it (which is what my mother ordered on this car)! And if anyone knows where I can find any of the "Sidewinder" side pipe covers, I need to know that also. These are in great shape except for the front black rubber covers. They need to be replaced!

Thanks in advance with any information that anyone can give me!

    Veronica

I'm not sure how many of the Bear Cat Comets were made but if you do have one then you certainly have a rare car. There are a few threads on here relating to the Bear Cats. Use the search button above and you will find some interesting info and pics. Great looking car and just let us know if we can help!

Welcome. Maybe an expert will chime in with a comment of whether bearcats were made with 73 Models .... We have seen them on 71's and 72's ...
