Hi everyone. I have a '70 Maverick for my step son to start driving in. It's a plain Jane 200HP 6 cyl (I don't know the ci), auto and air... no other fancy stuff. He wants power steering on it. I purchased a set-up on ebay but can't seem to figure out if I have the right pump bracket. Any pics or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Howdy and :Welcome:

The biggest engine available in 70 was a 250 and that only had around 150hp. The 5 digit in your Vin# will tell you what motor came in the car. U = 170 ci T= 200 and L = 250.

welcome to the board (y) .
adding power steering to an a/c.. auto.. 200 will be a little much...i think it has about 90-115 hp to start with... jmo... do you have a pic. of what you bought? does it have the booster or just the slave cyl.? a lot of us have taken the...power steering...off of our cars.
has he started driving yet? if not i suggest he drive the car a while first and then see if it would be worth the hassel to mount the steering.
the #1 thing to do is to put 5 lug disc brakes on the front and get a 5 lug rear end. :yup: . "stopping before steering"...jmo...frank...

Welcome,,, most people prefer the manual steering over the power steering. Like advised above,, maybe let him drive it for a bit to really know.
