What would be the best Ford 5-speed or 6-speed for a high performance 351w engine with supercharger or turbo?

If you have a built motor, I would not even consider a factory unit. Get a Tremec TKO or similar aftermarket built to handle the performance.

Of course this is just one opinion. :)

What tremec trans would fit for a 351 that would be easy to get still? @Acornridgeman

They are made new today for all engines. They can be found used too online or from a speed shop that builds cars and has used stuff. You just need to get the correct bellhousing for a 351W

Here is a link to their catalog. http://www.tremec.com/menu.php?m=93

There are other choices out there too. My point was get an aftermarket tranny that will handle your build.

if you go turbo, you may not like the stick shift with the turbo set up. the power level and power band and how its made really helps determine which transmission is best for you.

    Hi Toastr:
I'm running a 408 stroker in my 74 COMET now ( which is a 351 block) and a TKO 5 speed . I've ran a TKO in a 75 COMET and a TKO is a 74 427 Stroker all with great success. ALL of these swaps required major surgery on the Tunnel and some work on the Tranny Support . The headers were another problem that we dealt with on an individual car basis . The 408 and the 427 cars had the shock towers Removed and a Rack &Pinion installed.
Just my input on the TKO .. TREMEC has served us well.
