I rebuilt my Holley 1850 and now a get no accelerator pump shot. I removed it from the car to check for blockage in the passageways. I removed the pump diaphragm and applied compressed air to the port. A small amount of air came through the squirter opening (I remover the nozzle) and a large volume came out of an orifice in the baseplate. Have I put the wrong baseplate to body gasket on, or is this normal. Its putting the fuel out the bottom of the baseplate instead of the squirter. Please help, I need to get this on and running today. (I rebuilt the thing and then discarded the instructions, MY BAD:mad:) Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice.

Still looking for a little friendly HELP. Holley's tech sight said that it would be 48 hours or more for a response. I was hoping to do better. I have surfed all over and not come up with anything definite.

The squirter fuel shot goes from the bowl to the pump to another hole in the bowl, through the metering block, then the body, then the squirter. It shouldn't even go to the base plate. Did you use original Holley gaskets and check that they were aligned correctly? They can be installed backwards on some models. Also there are several different bowl and metering block gaskets for different carb models and are not interchangeable. I would suspect that either the bowl gasket or metering block gasket is installed backwards blocking a passage hole or you have an incorrect gasket.

I kept all the extra gaskets from the rebuild kit, I will have to look them over and make an educated guess or a series of uneducated guesses until I get it right.:hmmm:

    Thanks. :Handshake

OK - Had the wrong gasket between the metering block and the main body. All is good again. :)
