I went to a local swap meet today and found an intake manifold that I thought might generate some interest. It is a high rise dual plane manifold for a smallblock Windsor with Holman Moody cast into a pad just behind the thermostat housing are. I have posted a few pictures in my gallery. Any information you may have about this manifold would be appreciated.

And, Yes, I did buy it. I don't know if it will fit under the hood of a Maverick, but I DO have that Carbon Fiber cowl induction hood that I could use to cover it up with. (y)

That won't be any good for your car so you might as well send it to me :rofl2: Holman-Moody was THE source for many years for FORD racing parts, NASCAR, NHRA, etc. I don't know the original application, but would bet it's for a 289. Neat find (y)

Excellent intake. I used one years ago and it was great. What did you pay for that thing if you don't mind saying?

These are apparently still being sold but everyplace I could find selling them listed a price of $345 or higher. I paid $200 for it figuring that it would be a good conversation piece. Since an Edelbrock performer goes for $185 or so, I wasn't too upset by the price. I know that I could make more power with an Edelbrock Performer or Performer Air-Gap, but everyone has those. :slap:

Not much interesting at the swap meet, though. Lots of junk, lots of people wanting to turn iron oxide into gold, but few buyers.

Congrats Jay! That is a nice Intake. I think it could possibly fit under a stock hood. Good luck.(y)

I've seen plenty of those. I don't know if they are modeled after another intake or if it is unique in design. I had heard that the old Shelby sbf intake was the same as the Edelbrock F4B. Don't know about that.

I would guess that it fits under your hood.

    It is a H-M labeled F4B intake.
Yes they fit under the hood of a Maverick.
I have run them a few times.

Not only did H-M take a turn with their label on it, but FPP used it with big "FORD" letters, SA sold it with big "SHELBY" label, and someone even put "TIGER" on a version. Now they are all cast by Blue Thunder with different labels.
The FMS A-321 is also the same intake... That one is still cast by Edelbrock though.

    Compare to F4B

    I have to maybe disagree.

Too many casting differences to the F4B that I plan on using on an upcoming project.

They made many versions, all with casting differences.
Like I said, they were cast by a few different companies too over the decades.
Some had 2 holes, some had 4, some had small name badges, some had big badges, the point being that the ports, runners, and overall height is the same on all.

    I've got one also

I have one also, they were a popular intake on marine applications. Thats where I got mine, I found it in a 60s model boat with a 289 in the junkyard. I got the intake and a HM prepped dual point distributor for 50.00.
