    Homemade small front bumper bracket.

    Hello

Finally I found a small front bumper, but it doesnt have the brackets.

So I was wondering if it can be possible to do by my own.

I dont have the the dimensions.
I dont want to spend money, so it is the reason I want to made by my own.

of course you could make your own, I trimmed my '74 bumper and fabbed up some brackets using the original bolts and mounting holes... just use a couple jackstands to position the bumper where you want it and make a mounting plate using the original mount locations than figure out the best way to connect the two. than reinforce it as needed or atleast how you think it is needed.

    Yeah

    Thanks for the advice.

I´m gonna follow your advice. And hope the bumper won't look on a weird position.

For the price of a set of brackets I wouldn't waste my time. You can buy a set and they will be in the right place naturally. I could see if these were like impossible to find but there are many out there that can be had.

Your cars location?.. or are you overseas and out of reach?

If not.. then I agree with that last bit of input as well.

Unless you're a welder/metal worker type.. I'd also just stick with stock parts if at all possible with less emphasis on saving every penny you can on the project. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few around here who can easily help you out with the correct brackets.

I plan on making mine out of aluminum simply to save front end weight for racing.. but otherwise there are just too many various mounting points and odd angles to deal with all the hassle.

Plus.. the factory units allow slight adjustments to allow easier essembly/disassembly and to get it perfectly aligned.

    Thanks for the replies.

I tried to find the bracks but, the price was a little high. So, I decided to do it by my own.

If I can´t find the originals, I´m gonna do it.
