Has anyone tried to put mustang/cougar hood hinges and springs on a Mav? I was looking at them tonight because the prop rod almost fell and hit a friend in the head while looking at the motor. I looked at the cougar and it looks like the hinges will bolt right to the hood but will need minor modification to bolt to the inner fender. Just curious if anyone has tried this and how it worked. I think I am going to try it. I dont really like those prop rods.......

I looked at the 67 Mustang and didnt look like it would work at all without extensive modifications. One thing that worries me about a swap like this is these hoods were not designed for springs. Therefore, I wonder if they are strong enough to withstand the pressure of the springs without bending after repeated closures.

someone made a kit for the mustang II guys that used the gas charged shocks i havent seen them in a few months, but they worked pretty neat for them, im sure you could make something like that for a mav..
