I`ve always thought it was some kind of aftermarket scoop designed "loosely"
    after a Mopar scoop.

I`ve also always thought that it wouldn`t look good on Any other car in the world
BUT yours ...It looks cool on your Maverick . To me It makes your car unique !:)(y)

    I have seen it before.
I forgot who makes (or made) it...
It is based on the Boss 429 scoop, only exaggerated.
I have seen an ad for it before, must have been in an old magazine.

    Looks ok_ish

If it works for you, that's what counts the mostest. I have a 1/10 Comet model that I have had for about 13 yrs. and it has the identical scoop. I used to have an L88 and that was one sharp scoop. I do plan on getting another, soon as I can find a cheep hood that I can cut up.

I was hoping maybe someone might have some insight.

sure looks a lot like this one with a few mods...it even measures the same....if you factor in some shaving here and there.

now if people notice the in that drawing of that scoop the sides go forward like the Ford style does on the boss or the comet Gt, the sides on your scoop are cut back much like the mopar style. While it is probably not a stock size mopar scoop it is made in that vane. And no matter how many times you ask it will still be a mopar style scoop.:biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

    I'm pretty sure it's not a factory item for the Maverick/Comet Family.:hmmm:

Not to add gasoline to the fire. It does look the scoops that were on the Hemi Darts (I didn't say Mopar).

well I think it looks nothing like those hemi scoops. :tsk:
and ward, you don't think those sides could have been shaved back? :yup:
I went over to the shop and measured my scoop today.....amazingly similar numbers to that of the scoop above :D
