what is the diff except more than twice as much money for the 6208,s ,both 1 5/8" x 28", both have 3 " collectors ,both high temp painted, and you need 3/8 header spacers for the 6208 at a additional cost of 140 bucx plus shipping ,somebody make me understand so i can justify the diff in the two :cheers:2gates 6901-$170.00 -6208 $400.00 plus $150 .00 for header spacers

The 6802s are lightweight super comps for Broncos made with 18 ga. tubing. The 6901s are the regular comp headers made of 16 ga. tubing and are for Mavericks, Mustangs, Fairlanes, etc.

6208`s are special engine swap headers made to install a 351w into the early mustangs. The header wall thickness is the same as the 6901`s

    The 6901 has 1-5/8" tubes and the 6208 has 1-3/4" tubes...both have 3 " collectors.

The 351w has a taller deck hieght than a 302, making it wider than the 302. Because of this you have to use the spacer plates when useing the
    6208`s on a 302 .

Ok, he asked about 6802s. Maybe that was a typo? And the 6208s still have only 18 ga. tube walls...

    6208 hooker

It was a typo error, so the bottom line is the 6208 is a better header to use on a 302 thats stoked to 347 than a 6901, IS IT?,What about the huge price differance of 350 .00 after header spacers on the 6208, is there that much proformance diff between the to?:cheers:Outlaw Jimmy2gates

Yes according to Hooker`s site the 6901`s have 16 ga. and the 6208`s have 18 ga. wall thickness...I`ve owned both and never knew it.

Everyone with Crites was praising them high a while back...
    Haven't heard a peep lately.

They are 1.75" primary and fit both 302 and 351w.
They cost plenty... but at least there isn't a bunch of hassle to get big tubes like there is with 6208s.

If you don't want the big tubes, or light weight (in the case of 6208s), then stick with the 6901s.

I bought a set of Crites headers..but I have a 351w! They fit great..except for one tube on the drivers side...which I am in the process of having redone and will install this winter! I had to do a bit more welding to the inner flange..as they were inpossible to find gaskets for the way they were....the individual tubes make them much tougher to install than the reg single flange type though

If your 347 is run mainly on the street and your not making 500 hp or reving to 7000+ rpm 1 5/8" tubes are big enough.

Personally, I didn't think that it was much hassle at all to get the 6208's installed.
