So I have this Maverick with the engine and the wiring is all screwed up on it I’m wondering if anyone can tell me how to hotwire it using a wire from the battery maybe to the coil and not using a key just to see if the motor actually runs I’m running a Mallory distributor three wire distributor and coil

Connect a wire from the battery + to the coil +. Use a screwdriver to momentarily short the big terminal with the battery cable on the solenoid to the small solenoid terminal next to it. That's just to have the starter turn over. Are you sure your 3-wire distributor has +12 volts going to it (red wire)? Nothing will work without that.

Battery to+ side of coil. Use a screwdriver to jump from solonoid.
