I don't know, but according to that gas mileage calculator, my car gets 31.7 mpg running 65 mph down the interstate... I've came up with about 26 mpg myself. I've got tons of ideas in my head for my '69.5 to improve the mileage even more.
I highly doubt my '72 is getting that good. I think my 26 mpg is closer. The goal for my '69 is at least 28 hwy for now. Hopefully with a T5, electric fan, and hotter ignition I can get over 30... of course I may be dreaming... we'll see.
my 1/4 mile time is almost accurate.. only problem.. i dont know how many HP i have. i guessed.. and it seemed correct... but i could be off 20 HP in either direction.. my guess is i have more HP than i think.. just cant get traction to see what i will yield in the 1/4
Car weight: 2800 lbs. Horsepower: 250 hp Configuration: Rear Wheel Drive Results Quarter Mile Acceleration: 14.132 seconds. Terminal speed: 104.5955 mph.
at 104 mph you should be in the high 12 to very low 13s area. 14.1 usually is in the 94-96 mph area. big variation.
Yesterday going down to Terry's (Hawkco) house, I got well over 30 mpg. I've had several people check the math and everyone comes up with the same thing. I couldn't believe it. When I got down there I thought my gas gauge or fuel sending unit may have quit working or something. But had that been true, I would have ran out of gas. By time I got back home it was just above the E. I installed a new radiator and did some fine tuneing the night before. I'm still haveing a hard time believeing it, because lord knows I would have told anyone else they were full of crap. It's going to be very intresting to see what kind of mileage that '69.5 is going to knock back when I get it all together how I want it. Could 40 mpg be possible in a Maverick?
the probabilities will be mostly proportionate to how it is powered, how it is geared, and how heavy your feet are . seriously though, factory MPG is usually calculated with "average acceleration and driving" real world MPG varies greatly by driver. the majority of people floor it off the line and up to speed. then drive the car anywhere but at its optimum speed, hence the reason most people get less MPG. Giving up the quarter to half second gained at each light and across town can be a massive increase overall. it just isnt always easy though
I got about 25 mpg round trip going down to Frank's and back today. 240 miles round trip. Something that I totally was not expecting was that on the way down there, I ran 70-80 mph the whole way. On the way home I ran 65 mph the whole way and rode behind semi trucks so I could catch their draft and let them kind of pull me along. I got better mpg running 70-80 mph all the way down there then running 65 all the way back. Strange...
