I want it to look nice, have as few twists in them as possible, and want them to be as short as they can be.

I am installing in a 5.0 (keeping that firing order in mind), big distributor cap, and coil on passenger shock tower.

How do I sort through the wires and determine which goes where, or what is the order from shortest to longest as it pertains to distance from dizzy to each numbered spark plug?

These will go in front of the valve covers, then over each header tube, with looms periodically to keep them sorted.

I find the best way is to get unassembled spark plug wires there all long all ya gotta do is lay em out mark em' cut em' and then install the boot they come out way better that way.

When i did my setup.. i had a brand new MSD Pro Billet distributor, MSD 6 box, MSD Blaster SS Coil and 8.8 MSD wires that had to be crimped and all that.. what i did was find out where #1 was, and routed all the wires, and put all the clips where i wanted them, and then after it was all laid out, i cut and crimped each wire, 1 at a time.

to have the entire system put in, it took me about 6-8 hours

Well, you guys aren't a lot of help!

I have precut wires from Ford and now I have to measure each distance and sort them out myself.

Oh well, I got nothing better to do today.:D

Best bet if you want em neat is get a cut to length set and spend a few hours figuring out where you want em.cut em up and be done.Spend for a good loom set as well.

Cut to length is the only way to go. You can make them look real purty.

You guys are right. I went ahead and put the wires on and they are really long. They stick up and loop out quite a bit.

Well, gonna take it for a drive and see if the miss is gone. (That is the miss. Not the Mrs. :thumbs2:)

i like to use these. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MFY-5075611/
you can use the to keep the wires cleanly out of the way going right along the valve covers. then you leave the excess wire looping up away from the headers. it usually makes for a nice and clean look as long as none of the loops get to big.
