The mouldings running near the driprails are held on with clips. A good sturdy putty knife will pry the moulding off the clips pretty easy. The clips are old, so they will probably break. The moulding running across the back is an another matter. That moulding is bolted fast to the car and you would need to drop the headliner to get access the the nuts.

Opps! I stand corrected. Your Maverick doesn't have the rear moulding that bolts to the roof. The vinyl top on your car should go down behind the rear window trim and the front windshield trim. Those mouldings need to come off and the best way to remove them is with a moulding clip removal tool. Most auto parts stores shold have them in stock. I may be mistaken, but I think the moulding is bolted on near the bottom of the rear windshield. Those you can access through the inside of the trunk.
