How tight are the bolts on the pan supposed to be?

I've replaced the gasket on the pan and it still leaks from the two bolts on the tail side. The instructions on the gasket said they are to be torqued at 120 inch pounds? I used my torque wrench which only goes to 75 pounds but I don't think that's right?

and you sed that it is leaking from the back of the pan !! i dont think its loose bolts it's probably the rear seal on the pan gasket is not lined up and leting oil out TRUST me i had to do mine 4 times because it wouldent line up

if thats the problem i would recomend getting a rubber one that is a 1 piece:thumbs2:

If you took the flex plate/flywheel off and didn't put sealer on the bolts it will leak oil. The bolts go through the crank flange...they are not blind holes.

Thanks, good info. Yes I made a mistake of changing the gasket on the pan and added a bit of silicone. I've replaced it with a one piece rubber gasket and its not leaking as much, but it still is.

I like to coat both sides of the pan gasket with Loc-tite #518 to prevent leakage.
I also straighten the pan rail (they defore when torqued) before installation.
Silicone disolves with ATF - it turns to jelly and gets into the lube and cooling passages and can cause all kinds of hard to fix problems.
