Is it possible to paint the front coil spring? I thought that since I'm cleaning, rebuilding and painting the front suspension, it'd be nice to "pretty up" the spring while I've got it out before I put it all back together. But I was curious about the paint eventually chipping off.
You can paint (or powdercoat) them like any other part. They don't flex enough to make the paint flake off. They were just dip-painted at the factory.
I cut a coil off mine, blasted them, and painted them with Krylon gloss black. That was 6 or 7 years ago and they still look great.
I just did mine while replacing everything. They were sandblasted and painted with Duplicolor caliper paint.
