We should set up some how-to videos.

Kinda like our our own tv show.

The video can be a varisous things, mainly how to work on ur mav.
to simple things, to videos of full customizations.

To install headers, replace windows, or just show how to upgrade or fix any difficult problems, that pics cant fix.

I can host a lot of videos, heck ill even edit them, thats not a problem.

If anybody knows a lot about what their doing, and can explain what they are doing, while working on their car in front of a video camera(hopefully digital) and send us ur vids.

I really think this could work.

That sounds like a pretty good idea. I'm shaving a set of shock towers this weekend. I wish I had someone who could video tape it.

I can never find anybody to stand around and take detailed pictures of my projects as I am doing them. It sucks having to stop and wash your hands so you can take pictures as you go. :D

You got that right!!! Although I do plan on taking pictures and making a tech article for it. The best way I found to do it is wear latex gloves with a pair of working gloves over them. I prefer those cotton jersey gloves. I also keep my camera in a large zip lock bag.

What about putting the camera on a Tripod so all you have to do is aim and push the button

I love the idea!!! However ,I would assume the amount of space a large video would take up pretty much negates the chances of it happening unless somebody has unlimited access to a very strong, fast and free server. I would suggest doing a tech article using the written word and detailed pics. I am very thankful to those that have already contributed such articles and for those that plan to do so. It really can make a difference to the DIYers out there that may be a little afraid to try something with out any aforehand knowledge or XP.

Edit: You could do a video and then distribute it to members. I wouldn;t see a problem with this as long as it stays free of profits. Charge for shipping and the materials of course(y)

The problem with that is it is too far away. I like close up shots where you can see whats happening. PLus like in this case, some shots will be under the fender while most will be inside the engine compartment. All my tech articles are free and available to anyone who wants a copy, just ask. Most of them are also published in Shorthorns and can be put here or on Matts web sight if they want them. Or anybodys websight if they want. All I ask is to give me credit for the article.

I have a good server, and enough bandwidth(hopefully)

and I am a video editor, so I can edit , encode, compress, and rip video.

I never had any intention of charging for them, and never will.

i was thinking of makeing the vids from 25 to 30 min long. about 150mb

or maybe 2 versions, one like 20mb fo sample, or if you have dial up.

If someone were to make a video, I would try to host it if was under 500 megs. Making DVDs should not be that hard once the video has been fully edited in case I cant host it.

if we could get up one episode to test it out.
we could see if this can work.

I could make a test video I suppose. about 15 min long, im not sure what I could film. If if could figure out how to set up my coulum shifter around my headers, i could film that. But mainly I am just working on the body, with bondo and stuff.
I dont know if I am doing stuff the best, or giveing the best advice, while working on my mav.

about the best I could do is to shoot digi pics and have them put on a disc and send a narritive along with it and let you do your stuff,if you can make a movie out of this type of thing. I'm welding on a core support and right front battery apron as well as pulling apart the cowl vent area and repairing the small rusted area right now. after that I will be making the disc brake swap on the front and beginning the body prep for primer.
