Hello fellow Maverick owners... I'm just about to start restoring my '72. It was handed down from my gradfather to my dad and was both my brother's and my first car. Hope to get it up and running (if i can find the time to devote to it) so I can continue the family tradition. My plans are to install discs on the front...pulled spindles and callipers from a Granada...hope it was the right year Probably buy kit for upper/lower arm assemblies, tie-rod ends, coils, shock, etc.....hopefully there is an all inclusive kit somewhere. Think i saw something about 'americanpony.com' has a master kit...will check that out. Then it is on to the gas tank...think the old one has too much corrosion in it. Saw a how to on maverick.to for '65 stang tank but not sure i can handle that one. May need to ask around about other options. Engine runs, body is in good shape still, interior is in great shape... Should be a fun project..something for me and the 'old man' to do together. Will try to get some pics of her up...she was anti establish mint green or pea green but now she is metallic doo-doo brown (not sure what my dad was thinking on that one) Anyway...thanks to whoever created this place...can't wait to tap into the wealth of knowledge...lord knows i'll need it.
welcome aboard. the gas tank swap is a fairly easy one, just take your time. i get alot of my parts at johns mustang there on glenmont in houston.
Welcome my fellow Texan. Good luck with the project (some before and after pics would be nice). There's a wealth of information in these guy's heads. They'll cheat I mean treat you right.
