    Hello all,

I own a 74 Comet 2 door. I'm in the process of bringing it back to something to be proud of. It was in a front end collision when i bought it for 50$. It now has maverick doors and fenders with a stock Grabber hood no ports in it just stickers. I,m almost finished building a 302 to put in it because the 250 is tired. I've owned others they're fun cars. I have a 71 Grabber parts car and a 72 needless to say all I need is time. I didn't know that there is other enthusiasts for the forgotten.

    Hello, Pctogether.

You may find some pics of some cars here that have been swapped from
the large bumpers that were found on your '74 Comet to the earlier small
bumpers like your '71 Grabber parts car or the '72.

FYI-the fenders are notched for the close fitting smaller bumpers through
'72. They are not notched from '73 up. The hoods are different for Comets
and Mavericks, that may be obvious depending on your experience with
Comets and how much was destroyed in the collision. The hood latch, grill
and piece behind the bumper going to the grill is unique to each car-Comet
and Maverick. Swapping to the small bumpers is not a big task when you
have the parts cars as you do.

Best of luck with your resto.

Both fenders were taco'd the hood and doors were in pretty sad shape. The bumper bolts sheared and the grille was only half there. The latch brackets and lock were just fine. I just got another 74 that's in worse shape but it has pristine rear quarter panels, I needed both so I'm going to break out the wirefeed and go to town!
