It is pretty much literally impossible to guess hp based on mods, for many reasons. First of all, if you have a restrictive exhaust, for example, it may limit the whole system. Secondly it depends on factors like elevation and air temperature. Then there's the whole "flywheel versus brake specific horsepower". The original 210 horsepower is measured at the flywheel, whereas most people are more concerned with rear wheel horsepower. If you really want a guesstimate, the best i can suggest is 230-240rwhp (at sea-level) if you have everything tuned right and no limitations.

That seems waaay high for just a few simple upgrades don't you think?
There are people on here with pretty trick combos not making 240hp at the rear wheels.

Back then they tested what they call gross horse power it's at the flywheel and it is run with no accesories, no exhaust and a tuned carb.

Not to long after they changes the way they test for Hp which is called net Hp still at the flywheel. That's with all the accesories connected, the exhaust connected and a stock carb.

That's why it goes from 210 hp to 145 hp in one year. that's also why the late model 5.0 making 225 hp are much faster than the old cars.

With the headers and 650, you'll definately gain torque, probably about 175hp at the rear wheels.
Cherry bombs are not much better flowing than the factory muffler.

Thomas, I've got to check, but I do believe the SAE net was at the back of the tranny with all accessories running. I've got a book in the shop, I'll go pull it in a bit.
