I finally got on the stick.....

    Well, after sitting in my garage for 2 years after coming home from the paint shop, I finally worked on my orange Maverick this weekend. I removed the rear leaf springs and axle. I have officially removed every nut and bolt off of this car. This was the last "removal" task. Everything from here forward will be "installation".

    I need to rebuild the rear axle. Pumpkin is already done...just need to do axle bearings, seals, new brakes and brake lines, etc. Then paint it, paint the new leaf springs, and re-install everything so I can get it back on the ground. Before i do that...I will paint the underneath side. It is already been bead blasted and primed/sealed. Will also install new stainless lines as well. Afterthat...on to the interior.

    And "No"...it won't be done in time for the Round-Up. :(

    P.S. Dan.....the front leaf spring eye bolts came of with ease. Took the nuts off and the bolts just slid out with a push of my finger.

    SWEET! Looks like Mavaholic's Sprint is gonna have some "clean enough to eat off of" competition!

    Oh ... and BTW ... very nice garage!

    So what are your plans for the interior and the drivetrain?

    Interior: Basicallt Stock. High back bucket seats with black comfort weave material and matching door panels. Floor shift AT, Factory AC, Stallion steering wheel, LDO sound deadner in headliner (already installed), inside rear kick panels and front kick panels, 12" MTX dual voice coil sub hidden behind rear seat.

    Color: Vista Orange. 1977 Ford color used on Mavericks, trucks, vans, and on the 1977 Mustang King Cobra. Compared to Grabber orange, this is a brighter orange. It makes Grabber orange look more RED while this looks more of a YELLOWISH-ORANGE

    Looking good Craig, glad you have finally arrived at time to be able to work on it. One side of the front spring bolt came out real easy, the other is going to get sawzalled in 2 minutes!:mad:

    Sure you can. This is what mine looked like 6 weeks before the 2002 Roundup. I had to build the motor too. You just got to play hooky from work a few days a week, work about 30 hours each weekend, and go to bed at midnight and up at 5 to get some more hours in. You will finish up 6 hours before you have to leave for the show. Geeze, who wouldn't want to do that?
