Luckyirishpride was kind enough to not only supply with with the correct exhaust manifolds for my Grabber ... but the matching heat shield as well. The Air Tube is still available from the dealer that connects the snorkel to the shield. The only problem was that I had to use a Big Block snorkel on my air cleaner because the correct Maverick snorkel i got with the air cleaner had a big dent right on top like it was whacked with a hammer. The big block snorkel has a 3.25 inch hole in the bottom ... the Maverick snorkel has a 2 inch hole that matches both the air tube and the manifold shield. So tonight I straightened out and filled the Maverick snorkel so when I'm ready to remove the headers everything is ready to go ... And when all done will go together like this:
Nice...when i read the name of the thread i though you added a prostock snorkel to that great grabber... ..only the shelby mavs came with factory hood snorkels
Hmmmmmm, that engine bay looks familiar.........where have I seen it? Glad you got your manifolds. Have you painted them or are they just cleaned up? I painted mine a long time ago but forgot what I used, they need recoating, any suggestions on a good brand of paint? Ralph
Forget the paint ... I going to have them ceramic coated .... In the picture Sean had just sandblasted them for me ..
And it is a very poor sandblast job at that!! I snuck it into the blaster when my boss told me to blast and paint the horn for the 57 Chevy... so I had to make it quick!
No biggie ... the local shop that does the powder and ceramic coating bead blasts them first anyway ....
So, having the non OEM headers on there finally got to you., eh? I remember posting that they looked like the only thing on the car that wasn't stock, and I believe your reply was something to the effect, "After all the trouble to put them on, they aren't coming off!". Ha! I'm actually glad to see that you changed your mind. Although the manifolds are going to restrict the exhaust, they belong on your car. The snorkle looks perfect to me too. Good job.
