First the tire question; The tires are old, like early ninetys, they ride ruff and have a pretty good vibe or slight occilation in the steering wheel. The passenger front is wearing on the inside edge, could the tires themselves cause this? Or do i most likely have an alignment issue? And secondly the lifters on the 302 have always been kinda noisy, somtimes worse in the mornings, other times petty quiet, and even sometimes silent. Is there any thing i can add to the oil next time to unstick them, and help keep them quite??
    later!! chris

you keep fresh oil in it right? i'd try some of those "thick" addatives lke lucas or STP if you not ready to crack into the engine and replace internals. sounds like your tie rods are off a little causing that uneven tire wear. does the steering get shakey at high speeds, 50mph+? when i changed my outer tie rods it solved both problems. that tire might also be not balanced correctly. new tires may also be the issue. if there dry rotted, cracking, bubbles etc its probably time for a new set.

    good luck

i like the lucas oil treatment. if the tires are from the early nineties they need to be replaced for safety reasons. while they are doing that have them realign it. better safe than sorry. also check the rest of the front suspension. good time for it.:)
