Had an interesting talk this week with a man who had posted a 70 Maverick on Craigslist. He wanted a very reasonable price for it as a parts car. Since I was looking for small bumpers I called. turns out both bumpers were bent, both front and rear gravel shields also had some damage. Since I don't really have room for it I told him I was probably not interested but would still like to see it. That maybe I would to do a quick tear down, get what parts I could and haul it off. Well as soon as I told him I probably wasn't interested he wasn't interested in even showing me the car, then related the story. He is not from Richmond VA. area, the car was listed around midnight and at noon he was having the car scrapped. Turns out someone in the Richmond area had promised to buy the car for $400 and he towed it up from NC and when he got here the guy wouldn't buy it and gave him $50.00 for gas. As you can imagine he was really pissed and told me if it didn't sell by noon he was breaking every window and damaging it so no parts could be used. before he had it hauled to scrap. At that point he had worked himself up and nothing i said was going to get him to even show me the car. I had a job no place to really store it here, it would have had to been a one day tear down and scrap for me. Plus I would have had to find someone to tow it here around my job schedule. It's a shame someone here in Richmond was that low to have someone tow the car hours and then back out. heck scrap would have covered over half of the cost of that car. Now, unless someone did buy it it's lost to all of us forever. Venting over
