I have a '69.5, and it cost $1,995.80 in June of 1969. It has no power anything, only an automatic trans and am radio, and a stompin' 170 cube engine! Good luck on the report.

I don't know about prices but I can give you some popular models to research:

Chevrolet: Trucks, always popular. 2 wheel drive, standard cab was most popular.
Caprice, Impala, Camaro, Corvette, Chevelle, Vega (gas crisis), Blazer.

Oldsmobile: Cutlas or Cutlas Supreme. I don't remember them making much else.(joke)
    Toronado was another.

Pontiac: Firebird and Grand Prix were most memorable plus the Trans-Am versions of the bird.

Cadillac: They were all big and bad, Coupe deVille, Sedan deVille.

Buick: These were huge with families and businessmen. Riviera-2 door, LeSabre,
Limited. Electra 225-called a 'deuce and a quarter'. My mom had a '72 Limited.

Ford: Galaxie and Galaxie 500, Torino, Mustang, Ford Trucks-F100 and Ranger F100 editions, Bronco, Pinto (gas crisis), Maverick of course.

    Lincoln: Continental

    Mercury: Comet, Cougar, Montego, Capri.

Toyota, Datsun and Mazda became a widely accepted alternative to US automakers in the early-mid '70s mainly due to the gas crisis.

    Good luck.

I paid $3900 for a new '74 Maverick Grabber. My parents bought a new '74 Grand Torino 2door for $4600. This was A plan discount as my dad was a supervisior for Ford. I remember many Mustang II as '74 was the highest Mustang sales. There were lots of Pintos, Vegas, Novas. There were lots of "presomal luxury" cars like the Elite, Tbird, MontegoMX, Torino Brogham Cougar XR7, LTD II Brogham. There were still a lot of Cameros, Trans Ams, Firebirds. I think the avarge car was about $4500.00. I remember a Ford conversion van and a Pinto Crusing wagon that was sharp!
