I have found a guy to paint my mav and I a have seen his work. He does a great job but is very undependable. I just have to be patient because it is a side job for him. Here is my question. I have been waiting to put the new carpet in and put the interior back together untill after it is painted.. I may be a while until the outside is painted can I go ahead and install the carpet and put the interior back together. I do not want to just wait. I want to keep making progress. Besides it is cooling off and much more pleasant to work on the car. What would you all do?
I agree. Unless the car has windows in it and you're going to tape everything up real good, I would wait.
Wait ... getting overspray off of you interior parts will not be fun ... Once you get the car back ... the interior will only take a few hours to install ... you won't be saving any time doing it now ..
wait wait wait.....I just painted mine, I tried to be as cautious as I could when taping everything, but still got overspray in the car.
I hope this painter works out for you. You have worked so hard to get this far and have to swap painters at the last minute... It should be a car to be proud of when you get it finished.
Wait! The guy painting it will thank you for it as well. Its alot easier to paint door jams and such without having to tape off interior panels or remove them. Plus it makes sure theres no bare spots around those areas.
I'd find another painter. Waiting for someone who is erratic like that can be frustrating and not always worth it. "Side jobs" can turn into a real nightmare for the customer.
i love painting cars.. just cant stand body work... if anyone has a garage. and the car is prepped and you need someone to paint a car, and in my area.. give me a call.. i will spray for cheap heheh
