I just got a call from a guy that has a 70 Mav that his mother bought new in 70. His mother just passed and he is handling her estate. The car hasn't been out of the garage since 1975. All I know of the car is that it's a 6, auto, green with a black interior.(just what I need another green and black Mav) Did they come in any other color???? Anyhoo... the guy said he would like to get $400 for it. Says it's clean with some bondo in the right quarter from a fender bender way back when. Interior is near perfect, all 4 tires are flat and hasn't seen the sun, or started up since '75. It needs to be moved, quickly before he heads back to FL.From the info givin(I know, not much) what would be a fair offer? I'm thinking $250??? Russ

LOL ... An original 1970 Ford Maverick that has been in storage for the last 30 years and you are thinking $400 is not a fair price?

    I'll take it ...

Last year I bought 2 Fairmonts in a row both of their original little old lady owners. One was a Futura with 63k miles, very nice car, other was a 2dr sedan with 44k orig miles, the thing was like brand new (was going to put 460/C4 in the 44k one).I bought the Futura for $300 and the lady wouldn`t budge on the price.(i don`t like futuras).

The other one,the lady was getting her new Honda the week after and asked me if $300 was too much,I GLADLY paid her the $300.Ended up selling the Futura for $1200,held onto the other one until I decided to get away from the fox-bodies....and ended up getting $1200 out of that one too.....but later on I saw it resurface on Ebay where it went for close to $2000!!!!

Little Old Lady cars are the best ones to find!!!!!!

    4 flat tires??

The little old lady that wanted to sell me her one-owner car also told me "on the phone" how nice it was. Then I went and looked at it. I bet a "little bit of bondo" could end up being something different.....

    Check it out for sure.

I've also talked to him and have made arrangements to go look at it, so I guess there will be some competition.
