the only thing i see wrong with it is...some of the lobes aren't round....they look egg shaped...:yup:
you should be able to take a file and some sandpaper and get them close enough...the price is right...:thumbs2:

I have the same cam in a mostly stock 302 with the exception of intake, carb and headers so yes it will work. You should go ahead and upgrade the valve springs while you are at it.

I agree with Ghetto, would likely work ok with all stock parts, but new springs (and seals) would remove all doubt.

If you plan on going big, go big now. Great for daily driving and sounds nice at 500 rpms

    Cam?

I'm not sure I would start with the cam. I saw one of your other posts and you were thinking about heads. Cams are a great upgrade as long as you have the heads to flow all that extra air. The heads will bring you more HP then just a cam. Cams are cheap compared to heads but I bet you wouldn't feel much of a improvement with just the cam swap. Why do I say this? If you are running stock Ford heads... well to be honest they suck for air flow.

One of the local speed shop I go to has a big sign that reads.
    "If it won't flow, you won't go!"(y)

    As always just my .02

I would just use what springs Comp recommends.I used SVO or Motorsport springs already on the 289 heads I bolted on at the same time. This engine was built out of stuff I had lying around so it was very poorly matched. For the price of cam and lifters and assuming you are doing the labor you will feel a little improvement and they will already be in the car when you swap the heads.Heads will help more than anything. If you want the sound and a little extra power you might try the smallest Thumper cam from Comp.It seems like it works with mild mods as well.

Yes, its not a huge difference with stock stuff (of course with a 4 barrel) BUT it is definatly a difference. I just want more power:D

I have that cam in my 302. Bought it as a complete kit. cam, springs, lifters, timing chain, and seals. I have 69 iron heads on mine, with 58ccs, with flat-top pistons from speed-pro. rpm intake with a 600cfm holley. Santa brought me a pair of summit hedders this year & I've just bolted them on. I'm so close I can taste it. I would like to hear from others about this combo.

You are doing a nice street upgrade. You can youtube SBF head porting. Grind away, then have your favorite machine shop do a valve job and you are all set.

Sorry if I sound like I'm kicking this horse but its eazy to get air in, it's much harder to get it out.

With all SBF our problem is the heads are the bottleneck.

BosMav is correct, just remember that a internal combustion engine is an "air pump", getting it in isn't as easy as you think, and getting the same amount out is even harder.
If you are going to replace the cam, I would replace the timing chain, take the heads off and do a little porting on your own, then do a cheap mans valve grind, put new springs, retainers, keepers and go.
Also, personally I think the duration of 268 straight across is a little weak, I think I'd go a little more like 278 or 282 degrees which depending on lift and lobe center line should give you a little more agressive sound without killing low end torque.

    IMHO
