My neighbors got an old LTD for sale. I've forgotten if its an 83 or an 85 model. It's a total rust bucket but it does have a pretty good running 302 with throttle body injection, and an automatic transmission. My question is. What would it take to install this motor in my 77 Maverick? I know about the motor and trans mounts, and all the hardware I would need. It's the wiring and all the stuff it takes to actually get the motor operational that I'm fuzzy on. Do I have to replace the entire wiring harness? If so does anyone make a harness that will more or less just snap in to all this stuff (ie ignition, steering column, dash components, lights, etc)? Would it be easier to swap the tbi with a carburetor (carbs are another thing I'm not much good with)? I would really appreciate some advice. I don't mind spending a little money to do this the right way, but I also don't want to just waste money if there's an alternative that'll work well and save a few bucks in the process.
    Thanks.:tiphat:

The engine wiring isn't that bad, it's power to the coil, a few grounds, and the alternator.
Is it fuel injected? or variable venturi? Pulling whatever it is off, and going with a carb would be the easiest.
