I'd rather drive it than sand it.

I was going to hold off on posting a video until i had it painted and on the road. But i hate body work because it takes me 5 times longer than anyone else to do what needs to be done. Anyways here a video of what it sounds like now, i keep telling myself thats valvetrain clater i'm hearing cause it comes and gose, and pay no attention to the squeeky throwout bearing --- it currently has no clutch pedal stop installed :rofl2:

Sorry Ssampson, i'm slow work with me,

Theres a 1967 clone Shelby ( not finished ) a 1970 402 4spd Chevelle, and over in the corner is a 69 Camaro with some kind of crate motor in it. And the Fairlane is my boy's ride when and if i ever get the Mav done.

On vacation this week, had hood damaged by wind, had another hood deal in the works monday ----- my brother said he could get me as good a deal without driving to get one --- guy hasn't shown up with the hood yet.

So i need to vent, and if ya want some reading material have at it.

Ok ---- The body of the car needs --> primed --> blocked and final prime and wet sand <-- ( it is close ).

Rear quarter extensions and hinges sanded and ready for prime, rear roll pan has been worked over --- 2 small areas left to fill ( missed dings ) and it will be ready for prime and final block. Hood latch painted and ready.

I had all that done by Tuesday, the roll pan was smoked but i started on it last weekend and had the majority of the damage worked out already. Last night before i left the shop i decided to sand a little on the front valance, the last Mav i did i orderd a fiberglass one, wish i had done that this time.

Whoever worked on this valance last, i hope the good Lord didn't give you the ability to reproduce, one of you is more than enough for the entire span of humane exsitance ( i'll leave it at that ).

One half side of the valance was coverd in ( and i'm not lying ) 1/4 of an inch of old 1980's heavy bondo ( the tan stuff ). the other half not as bad --- it was only 1/8 inch thick. I spent the first half of my time today grinding it back down to metal, the last time the car was on the road i remember thinking that the valance looked odd -- but never really gave it any thought, until now. And why was all the bondo layed in ? Because someone welded a few small areas and instead of grinding down the welds and doing some dent and crease removal, it seemed more logical to mold a new exterior panel out of a gallon of bondo.

If it makes you fell better...will take me 3 years to finish my body work, and I work on mine daily...in one capacity or another.
Sorry to hear how frustrating a time your having right now, but a year from now you will look back and go... pfffttt. And be on your next frustrating project.:rofl2:

I'll try to do it, have to figure out a way to secure the camra to the headrest, you wont be able to see the speedo, but i can tell ya this --- it's a 5 speed with 3.73s and in second gear it still breaks the tires loose at 60, it dosent chirp them, it roast's them, you have to wheel it to keep it in a strait line. Cant put it into words, just gonna have to show it.
