Is there any way that there can be a feature added that shows whether or not the items for sale have been sold. I hate getting my hopes up to open a post and see it's already gone. If anything can be done to make this easier I'd appreciate it. (y)

a courteous post from the seller saying "thanke guys, the part has sold" would be good.:)

i like his idea. but it would be up to the seller to do that, and if the seller doesnt make a post about the item being sold, then for him/her to put the SOLD tag on, would be the same result.

it is a great idea.. but not sure how it would be enforced if the people arent putting up a friendly reply saying it was sold.

Another option is to delete the thread once it is sold.

at the very least some kind of different icon by the post would help.

the only problem with ALL these ideas is that it still takes some kind of response from the seller. if they are not caring enough to say it's sold then what makes you think they'' say something here. also if they post here and then sell it somewhere else, and don't come back, what then? it's a great idea but like Simon says how would you enforce it. Maybe it could self destruct in 30 days. If the seller still has it he would have to repost it.

That would be the only way I can see...the self destruct method. Of course the forum may not have that option and it may be up to a moderator or someone to automatically delete old posts after 30/60/90 days. Probably more trouble than it's worth.

Right now by default, the classifieds sub forums show ads from the past 30 days. There is no way of having the forum delete posts automatically and im not going to manually purge posts.
