Congratulations to Matt Hawk, aka Badmav7086. He just won the IHRA No Box Championship at Virginia Motorsports Park. He went up against the best in the US and Canada and came out on top. Way to go Matt.

Thanks guys! It was definitely an unbelievable weekend. Just to get to go back to Virginia was an honor but to actually win it and be able to represent my track and my family was just awesome. And yes, it was in my maverick, no better vehicle to use!!
I watched it round by round on 1320go.com. You were definitely on a roll. The first 2 rounds they broke out and you were dead on. second round dialed 11.75 and went 11.753. The 3rd round Matt was .006 to his .070 light and backed off a bit. Then had him all the way in the final round. Now when you whip my butt, like you usually do, I can at least say I got beat by the world champion.
Yeah I knew there weren't going to be any easy rounds and I needed to just take it one round at at time. Luckily I didn't really have time to over think anything because we were fighting an oil leak so after every pass I pulled straight into the trailer and we put it up on the lift to clean it all up try and stop the leak. Thankfully everything worked out. Are you coming down on the 12th for the final team race?
