The Mustang has the driveline from the 1964 Rambler that he won the Dynomax Power to the wheels competition with. Also just a side note, He takes this car all around the southeast grudge racing it... so you can be sure that the pass he made on National TV does NOT show all that the car is capable of!
Yes its a 427ci small block Chevy. Ironically Brian is a Ford man at heart. His Dually is a Ford, His Daily driver is a Mustang. Back when he first started building the Rambler he first wanted a Ford Driveline in it, but he said at that time(Late 90`s) it was much more cost effective to build a Chevy based engine to suit his goals. The Rambler now sits without an engine and quite possibly will end up Ford powered this go around. Brian sold the driveline from the Rambler to David Floyd who bought the Mustang from another friend of mine and paid Byian to put it all together Now Brian Tunes and races the car every weekend and David pays the bills.(sweet deal huh?) David races his other (Blue) turbo Mustang when he goes to the track.
Here is the rambler with the same engine in it. Notice the Tag being torn off.http://www.myspace.com/video/vid/28643459 And another...count how many times he peddles it. Everybody thinks drag racing is easy. Well from experience high HP cars with short wheel bases want to do anything but go straight some days. but it sure is fun.
