    Do any of you racers dudes (or chicks) have a good source for decent, inexpensive 4pt seatbelt harnesses?

    I'm not looking for anything special (no need for 4" wide, fireproof, w/ cam locks - lol) We haven't even taken our mav to the track (yet) so I just want them more for the look-effect and marginal safety factor (so no one slams their head into the dash.)

    I've found a few listed on ebay but just thought I'd check here too. We have low-back buckets in the front (if that makes any difference...)

    Thanks!

    Maybe try racingjunk.com or something of the sort for a set of out dated ones. Otherwise summit or jegs.

    :yup: I think NHRA requires replacement every 2 years of manufacture. You can definitely find a set of older ones cheap.

    Cool beans Jimmy2gates? I see your car has a cage but we don't have one. Do the shoulder harnesses go all the way to the floor?

    I always thought this was a no no?

    I thought that by the shoulder straps being mounted to the floor and not a bar above shoulder height that during an accident (god forbid) that it would actually hurt you more than just having a lap belt or 3 point belt. I can't remember all the details on why or where I heard it but it had to do with to low of a mount location and during an accident the stress it puts on your spine?

    Just trying to look out for someones safety,
    If I'm off my rocker please let me know(y)

    74 Grabber,you are very rite ,if he wants the harnesses i have they are 5 point ,but he will only be able to use the waist straps and the one between his legs as a three point ,or make a modification for the shoulder straps to be sown into the back of the seat at shoulder height,or even safer yet a bar across the back of the seats to fasten the shoulder staps to ,i believe if he dosnt do this he will be safer with a three point lap and crouch belt.

    Hmmm - thanks guys. Guess I'll just stay with the current lap belts in the car for now. No point in making things worse...

    @jimmy2gates
    If you've got an outdated harness you'd be willing to give a way, I wouldn't mind paying shipping, even if they aren't NHRA approved.
