Inside Door Release Removal

    How do you remove the inside door release from a 1976 maverick. I removed the long rubber armrest/pullhandle, removed most of the clips with long screw driver. then I noticed that the chrome around the door release was preventing me from removing the panel. Please help

    blue 70 two door
    pop out that little black plastic peice inside and there is a screw holding it in.
