I was wondering what the hell the trunk should look like. Since I've had 0 experience with Mavs, other than mine, I don't know what the trunk's supposed to look like. Obviously, I'm not supposed to see through the rust holes in the side panels, but other than that, I'm clueless. I've got the jack, spare tire, and lug wrench in what I assume is the appropriate position, but the trunk's all steel, and there's nothing else in there. Is it supposed to just be clean metal with the tire and stuff bolted down, or is there something more?

Any of you bored enough to throw me some screenies of your trunk beds? Thanks in advance.

Yup. Is that just primer/sealant? Looks just like mine... minus the dirt, rust, holes, and general ugliness.

I just cleaned up the original trunk, coated the entire thing with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator and repainted with Splatter Paint ... Simple and Stock ... I splattered everything that was originally splattered and left body color everything that was originally body color ...

I can't quite tell in that picture, is there anything covering the dips on the sides where the inside of the rear fenders/panes are? Mine basically has a gouge on either side that things could fall into, and I'm not too happy about that. I might get a digital camera before I head back to Jersey next week to work on my beast, and if I do, I'll snap some pictures in case I'm not clear.

Nope the openings stay there unless you could cover them with something.

If I have the time, I think I'll make hinged covers for them. It's possible I might want to actually use the space at some point for small things, and I don't particularly want to have that space completely closed off. Never know what could go wrong in an area you can't get to...

I went for a more "luxurious" look for my trunk and I built panels with styrofoam board from Lowe's and I glued trunk carpeting that I bought from J C Whitney. Here are a few pics:

dmhines, can you post a picture of your tire bolt down mechanism? Do you have a nut welded to the trunk floor or what?

Just using the stock J-hook that attached to the tab in the trunk floor ...
