I am starting the install today. I will post pics. as I go. http://www.msdignition.com/Products/Atomic/Atomic_EFI/2910_-_Atomic_EFI_Throttle_Body_Kit.aspx Tim and Collin are coming up to make sure I don't screw something up. this is my 3rd. attempt at putting EFI on Patches. the first two were determined to have been bad units and were returned...Projection III and Holley Command. the sole purpose of this install is to get enough clearance to get my stock Grabber hood back on my car... an Edelbrock card. gave me the clearance I needed (3.375 ins.) but...not too crazy about Edelbrock carbs. this is going on my LS 3.5 but will be the same install on any carbed Ford engine. : to be continued:
E-fuel pump is already installed in tank... http://mmb.maverick.to/threads/in-tank-fuel-pump-for-fuel-injection.75382/
I know your using a return line on yours, I wonder how well it works using their returnless pulse e-pump ?
I can't wait! A friend of mine just put one on his 66 Mustang, he ran a return, which they all pretty much need, I also want this system for my car. I just bought all MSD ignition, so it'll all work together.
very much interested in this swap as well. can't justify the cost of this unit yet, but i'm toying around with this idea...
I have used one at work on a customers car, it was actually already on it..... He has a 67 Mustang Shelby by Classic Recreations with a Ford crate all aluminum 427 in it..... I had my doubts about the atomic efi because it was not running good at all..... Turn out all the problems were with the tune up..... I checked everything out, put the unit back to stock, made changes one at a time and tested..... After about an hour and a half that thing screamed..... I gave it back to the customer and he said he was embarresed he ever drove it the way it was..... By the way that car had a return style fuel system on it..... It is in the instructions you can either use a return style or returnless system with the atomic efi.....
got a full refund on the units... the kicker was the cost of the plumbing and E-fuel pump ....not to leave out over $800 in dyno time trying to tune them...
hope it works out for you this time. glad u were able to get refunds on past units. hopefully/maybe u won't need all the dyno work this time.
Tim and Collin left about an hour ago...much thanks to them Guys... they wanted to hear it run before they left. it fired off the first try. I put the breather on and closed the hood (that was my goal)...will clean up some wiring and take it for a tomorrow...
either way...some leave it in the car to see what's going on. it's mostly for monitoring and code check. it's a self learner so changes only need to be made on startup. (cubic in, #of cyls, cam specs) I think there were 2 more questions then fire it up. every time I start the car it has a smoother sound. I checked it with a cold start this morning. it cranked at around 800 RPMs, 2 sec. it was down to 700 then 2-3 secs. later down to 550.
I had coffee this morning, with the guy that just installed his on his 347, he said it's pretty sweet.
