We will have to keep an eye out for more news on this. You know it could be a big seller if they ever did bring a newer version out some of the concept pictures that have been floating around make it look pretty cool and I think the public is looking for something besides Mustangs, at least I am. Whats old is new again

This would be my guess. Don't know if any truth or not but I heard that Ford lost the name Falcon because of Falken Tire. Ford wanted to use that name again in the USA but the lawyers said no, instead they came up with Fusion.

It would be really cool if it was like a smaller mustang type vehicle. Worried it'll end up like a focus. Not that that's a problem, but would be wayyy cooler to have a rwd coupe

Dynacorn...Fords trying to get in front of the aftermarket parts industry. Licensing rights are big $$$. Ford is a real stickler for propriety when it comes to what they have produced over the years. Look at Lucas Films LTD...In the words of the great Yogurt..."murchendising!!!

Absolutely true. Ford began acquiring a great deal of income several years ago actively pursuing automotive after-marketers using Mustang and other Company icons in their name. Ford purchased the rights to the Cobra name from Carroll Shelby to use on their Mustangs not associated with Shelby. If you want to use a name in a like industry; you have to pay the Company that owns the rights and made the name famous.

Beware anyone in the automotive aftermarket using Maverick in their name!

Ford never cared much about the Maverick for all these years until now, when there is more interest in reproduced parts coming into the market, all of a sudden the corporate lawyers surface from the muck :rant2:
