Take a look at the pics and suggest the best method to make these look more presentable. The vinyl inserts look good but the areas around them, not so much. Can the area be repainted or dyed ?
The area around your door panel is the metal, inner shell of the door itself. If it is rusted, then you are going to need to sand, prime and re-paint it. The arm rest and the door panel can be cleaned, prepped and painted using SEM's vinyl paint products. I have had great results with their products. The chrome strip that runs around the door panel is going to be the tricky part. It is not reproduced. Some people have painted them to match the interior colors, or you can try the chrome tape stuff that hobby stores sell.
The textured metal door can be prepped with a wire wheel or wire cup on the end of a drill. This will not damage the textured finish like sandpaper
Exactly - I used a wire wheel in my drill and cleaned out the texture on both my doors and then my paint guy did a couple of light passes over it with epoxy primer so the paint didn't fill in the texture pattern
