You need to go to your local automotive paint store (ppg or dupont). Bring your panel with you. They can help you unless they just don't want to. That's the problem with a lot of people these days. If somebody comes in with something that's gonna make them use their brain a little bit they just say they can't do it...and I know they can.

I went to two auto paint stores, ppg books don't go back to 1976, and Hannah said they don't do vinyl paint.

Well, it's like I say...they can do it if they want. People restore cars back to original every day much older than a 76 Maverick. You just have to find someone willing to take the time that really WANTS to help you. See if you can find a Dupont jobber and see what they tell you.

Check with Sherwin Williams. They did all my interior dark color.

PPG doesn't mix die,I would use basecoat and hardener.I have used it for years and they(ppg) have no problem mixing a color that is a good match. It will not peel off if the panels are prepped correctly. It is getting harder all the time to have original colors mixed in a die form. We used to have marhyde die but I don't think it is around anymore.

Check with AutoKrafters '64 1/2- '73 Mustang online catalog. They carry a line of vinyl dyes of which some match the colors used on Mavericks. They have two dyes for '73 Mustangs called Light Avocado and Medium Avocado. I don't know if one of them is the same color as your interior and they don't show what the colors look like, but maybe they could send you a sample of what they do looks like.

I wonder if it's the same color as my cars interior?
I'll find a picture and post it.
Mike gave me the paint codes for mine, but like he said, it's done in base coat.
