I've done some searching, I assume black is the standard color for the trunk interior color? Has anyone painted their trunk body-color? My car currently has black but needs a repaint. Any opinions? Pro's/Con's? I'm not concerned with a "correct" restoration, just looking for options.

Mine is panted body color on the 1972 Grabber.

Most Mavericks I have seen were painted with a trunk splatter type paint.

Eastwood sells the splatter type paint Craig mentioned. It comes in a few variations - black with aqua specks, dark gray with light gray specks. It's expensive though, over $10 per can. A cheaper alternative is to go to Home Depot and find some of that fake marble texture spray paint. It looks very similar to the Eastwood stuff and costs $3 per can. I suppose you could also go the spray-in bedliner route as well, though I've never tried that.

If you use splatter paint....use a similair color primer first.

Not sure about other brands ... but Eastwood Spatter paint is not waterproof and has to be clear-coated after it dry's ....

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look around and see what I can find.
